Trailer 3.7" Howitzer 1930
This tracked trailer was designed by Carden-Loyd and weighed around 7.5 cwt. It was an alternative to a Kegresse tracked trailer . These were intended to carry the 3.7 inch howitzer, a lightly constructed gun primarily designed as a light gun which would be mule transportable for use in mountainous regions. Its construction was not robust enough for motorized towing. In the end the gun carriage was redesigned to make it more suitable for towing. Under tow the barrel of the gun would be elevated. There is a picture of this in Ventham and Fletcher's Moving the Guns, p 47.
Double Half Track 1930
These three photographs are also headed SARA. The Census number for this vehicleseems to have been 854.
This vehicle is described as a "Borer".
